What is RoHS?

ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is commonly known as the Directive 2002/95/EC which have been originated from the European Union. ROHS firmly restricts the use of those hazardous substances and elements which can be commonly found in electronic and electrical products.

Substances and elements banned under ROHS?

There are a handful of substances which have been banned under ROHS, which are:

  • Hexavalent chromium (CrVI)
  • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
